Punk Rock icon that imortalized the words "one, two, three, four...." will be back to Brazil and did ths
exclusive interview where tell us about the Ramones, your influences
and some stuffs about this Brazilian Tour.
Rock On Stage: Everybody knows you from de moment that you start
to work in Ramones, but before Ramones, How was you carreir before
Ramones, your history, influences, something, like this, please tell
us?
CJ Ramone: I grew up listening to everything from Country Music
to 50's classics to Motown and everything else on the radio during
the 60's and 70's. When I hit my early teens I discovered all the
classic Rock bands as well as Punk and Metal. The first band that I
really loved was Black Sabbath.
They are still my all time favorite.
I played soccer, but had to stop because of a problem with my knees.
Some friends of mine had a band but no bass player, so I got a bass
guitar and taught myself to play. I didn't get really good until I
was in high school. I started playing in clubs before I was old
enough to drink. After High School I worked in a military aircraft
factory, but when it closed down I realized I had no future where I
lived. I wanted to escape my town and see the world, so I enlisted
in the Marine Corps. It was while I was in there, that I got the
audition for the Ramones. The rest is history!!!
